The arrival of the blossoming colours of spring, means it is the perfect time for a good old-fashioned spring-clean and a spruce up of your home. With the days gradually getting longer and the return of the sunshine, you might be searching for some soft inspired colour palettes for the blooming British weather.
Have you considered a Georgian inspired colour palette?
This is because the Georgian decorating style is easy to fit into a modern home, as the colours during this period were often elegant, simple, and muted, and perfectly suited to a spring colour palette.
This blog will share three notable colours from this era that have made a contemporary comeback, against the types of flooring which work cohesively with these colours and additionally create a bright interior that is reflective of the spring season.
(‘Pea Green,’ ‘Sky Blue,’ ‘Dead Salmon’)

Mixing muted pinks with Georgian geometry
Far from being out-dated, pink has made a sophisticated return through its variety of shades and mixture with a modern interior flare. Many have taken to this colour in the past year, where it has turned up in a range of bathroom décor and colour schemes.
Our choice of pink is the dusty, muted variation, 'Dead Salmon’ that works especially well with the new flooring range that Amtico and National Trust have collaborated on. This collection takes inspiration from flooring designs in National Trust properties and bringing them into modern homes.
If pink is not your colour, this more muted variation of it might be, it creates the most subtle and serene of environments suitable for most rooms in your home.
If you are looking for something similar in design, that is not stone, then luxury vinyl tiles might just be the answer.
Pea Green Spring Clean
Amongst the pinks of Easter eggs and flowers there is the abundance of greenery and bringing that indoors can be easier than you think. To reflect the pleasantries of newly sprouting gardens, create a calming environment indoors using Georgian green colour palettes like this ‘Pea Green’.
This shade of green works well paired with natural materials like stone, wood, and natural fibres, such as this sisal carpet from Crucial Trading. The use of greens with other natural materials parallels the natural forms outdoors and works harmoniously with the spring season.
Sisal carpet is also eco-friendly as it is biodegradable and composed of replenishable resources. It is extremely durable, non-toxic, and antibacterial. Therefore, if you are looking for a spring-clean eco-green make-over than this could be your ideal combination.
Sisal comes in a vast range of colouration and woven fibre designs, so if you cannot be seen with green then it can be paired with other colour palettes.
Airy Amulet Blue
Following on from the colourful calming effects of green, is the endless blue skies of spring which linger for longer and light up the March-time landscape. Blue remains the most popular of colours to have in your home as it is the most diverse in shade range and is well suited in most rooms throughout the house.
Using this Georgian ‘Sky Blue’ colour palette you can brighten up your interior and create an airy atmosphere this spring. This shade of blue works well on walls and through the décor but adds that sense of luxury through delicate hints in this Ulster Carpet in the Watercolour collection.
If you want to keep your interior simpler and do not want blue walls or carpet, then adding hints of the blue palette throughout fixtures and furnishings is an effective way to bring a room together.
